PRINCIPLE

 

The determination is based on the reaction of free chlorine with diethyl-p-phenylene diamine ( DPD) in buffered solution ( PH 6.3 -6.6 ). The intensity of the pink colour is proportional to the free chlorine concentration.
The intensity of the colour is read at 525 nm
